After an MRI, it has been concluded that there is NOT, despite suspicions, a tear anywhere in the right hip region. There is evidence of DJD, an age issue...so I am not sure what the course of action will be. I visit the orthopedic specialist in late July.
I'll keep you posted.
Hip resurfacing surgery (with chromium alloy) temporarily sidelined this Clydesdale triathlete. Then a bad bike crash put perspective on life. Finally, a diet has brought an end to "Clydesdale."

Hip Problem
Looks like I will be out of commission for a while...torn hip labrum is the probable cause of the intense pain. I will get an MRI to confirm Dr's suspicion, then visit an orthopedic to determine the course of corrective action...this stinks, but I am glad to finally know the cause of the problem.

Still here...hip problems
Hip problems have greatly hindered training and racing. Eagleman was a fiasco as the hip prevented me from running (do you have any idea it takes to walk 11 miles???) Biking and swimming are going well, however.
